Ordering Marriage Certificates

The Vital Statistics Office has reopened to walk-in customers. Office hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

In accordance with CDC guidance, all individuals who are fully-vaccinated are no longer required to wear masks or physically distance. Unvaccinated individuals will need to continue to wear a mask or other face covering and social distance.

Marriage certificates began being filed with the Office May 1, 1913.

Marriage information is open to the public at the county district court level. Click here to access a listing of all Kansas county district courts.

Completed marriage licenses are first filed with the County Clerk of the District Court in the county where the marriage license was issued. The District Courts then forward the completed licenses to the Office of Vital Statistics.
