HealthQuest Minimum Requirements and Rewards for 2020

On Tuesday, June 16, the Health Care Commission (HCC) voted to reduce the number of HealthQuest credits required for eligible members enrolled in the State Employee Health Plan to receive the 2021 premium incentive discount. The credit requirement was reduced from 40 points to 20 points, due to the exceptional circumstances created by COVID-19.

In addition, the HSA/HRA Dollars awarded for each HealthQuest credit completed has been increased from $10 to $20 per credit, up to the maximum of $500 per member. This change applies only to the 2020 plan year.

Plan A participants will earn their 2021 premium incentive discount by completing 20 credits in 2020.
Plans C, J, N and Q participants will earn their 2021 premium incentive discount by completing 20 credits in 2020 AND will receive $20 in HSA/HRA Dollars for each HealthQuest credit completed, up to the maximum of $500 per member.

For HealthQuest credits already completed, Active Employees and Spouses will see the additional HSA/HRA Dollars sent to their NueSynergy HSA/HRA accounts by August 1.
For University Employees on Summer leave, the additional HSA/HRA Dollars for HealthQuest credits already completed will be reflected on the first paycheck upon return in the Fall semester.

Premium Incentive Discount and HSA/HRA HQ Rewards Payments for Plans C, J, N and Q

Employees and their spouses enrolled in Plans C, J, N and Q can each receive up to $500 into their HRA or HSA account in 2020 through participation in HealthQuest (HQ) activities. Each credit is worth $10 into the employee’s HRA or HSA account. The same HQ activities that earn HSA/HRA dollars will also earn credits toward the premium incentive discount for Plan Year 2021. Employees and their covered spouses must each earn 40 credits to receive the full $480 premium incentive discount. If only one earns 40 credits, the discount earned is $240 annually. Members enrolled in Plans C, J, N and Q can earn the maximum employer contribution into their HRA or HSA if both employee and covered spouse each earn 50 credits.

Credits are awarded into your HQ account once the HQ vendor has received confirmation of completion. The HQ vendor sends the SEHP weekly files every Friday outlining the HSA/HRA incentive dollars earned. Dollars earned are placed on the next available paycheck. As a reminder, paychecks are issued for the prior two-week pay period, so once you receive credits into your HQ account for an activity, it may take up to 2 available pay periods to see those dollars on your paycheck stub and in your HSA or HRA account.
