2018 Small Arid Landfill Owners & Operators Workshop


KDHE will sponsor a special training workshop for owners and operators of small arid landfills (SALs) in Garden City on July 24-25, 2018. Every few years, KDHE provides this kind of training opportunity for landfill supervisors, operations employees, and county commissioners who have an interest in learning more about important landfill issues. This year, the workshop agenda (attached) is designed to allow one or two day attendance depending upon interests and responsibilities. The first day focuses mostly on issues of most importance to county commissioners and landfill supervisors. The second day is more focused on operational issues and challenges. Some people may want to be present for both days.

There is no cost to attend this workshop which will be held at the Clarion Inn located on Kansas Avenue across from the Garden City Juco. However, we do need you to register in advance (by July 13) to help us with our planning. We are not directly inviting consultants to this workshop, but they are welcome if you register them as your representatives.
