Changes in Hazardous Waste Monitoring fees were recently adopted and will affect monitoring fees paid by Kansas hazardous waste management facilities as well as by EPA (large quantity) hazardous waste generators. Owners or operators of facilities pay monitoring fees on or before January 1 of each year while generators pay their fees prior to March 1 of each year.
Facility fees will be as follows:
EPA generator fees are based on total quantity generated during the previous calendar year as follows:
On-site storage facility
Off-site storage facility
On-site nonthermal treatment facility
Off-site nonthermal treatment facility
On-site thermal treatment facility
Off-site thermal treatment facility
Incinerator facility
On-site landfill or underground injection well
Off-site landfill or underground injection well

Fees for other generator classifications and transporters have not changed.
