Welcome

Welcome to Safe Kids

Safe Kids Kansas Inc., is a Coalition of over 70 statewide and regional organizations and businesses dedicated to preventing unintentional injuries to Kansas children ages 0-14. Unfortunately, preventable injury remains the leading killer of Kansas children ages 1-14, taking more lives than any other cause including diseases, homicide and suicide. This year, one child in four will suffer a preventable injury that is serious enough to require medical attention. Safe Kids Kansas is a 501c(3) charitable organization and is a member of Safe Kids Worldwide. The designated lead agency for Safe Kids Kansas is the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

Celebrate Safe Kids Day!

Group of Kids for SK dayInjuries are the #1 killer of kids in the United States. Around the world, more than one million children die each year from preventable injuries. Millions more are injured in ways that can affect them for a lifetime.

But these injuries don’t have to happen.

Safe Kids Day is a celebration to raise awareness and funds to protect kids from injury.
Won’t you help protect a child by making a contribution of just $10 to help continue the life-saving work of Safe Kids Kansas?  Your tax-deductible gift can make a big difference.  Please visit http://celebrate.safekids.org/kansas to show your support.

To celebrate, Safe Kids Kansas will be hosting a booth with exciting giveaways and helpful safety tips at the KDHE Health Fair in downtown Topeka on Wednesday, May 22 (rain date May 29).  Find us on the south lawn of the State Capitol from 10:00am to 12:30pm.  Tell us why your kid is a Safe Kid and you’ll be entered into a drawing for special prizes. The Health Fair is being sponsored by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (our lead agency)!
