Grantee SVPE-05
Project
Curriculum / Resources Used
Project Summary This community/school-based program seeks to reduce the precursors for sexual violence by employing interventions with sixth graders in middle schools to improve male attitudes toward violence, decrease male violent acts in school settings, and increase resources available to deal with such incidents, if they were to occur. The structural effect is shown in the districts including superintendents, school faculty and students on this issue. The demonstrable effects are indicated by strong positive changes in attitudes, behaviors, and resources for students and staff. Evaluation Impacts
Summary: Between the 2001-2002 school year and the 2002-2003 school year, systematic, district-wide changes occurred. It is evident that these positive changes, as measured by SVPE project data, probably stem from changes in and training around sexual harassment policies. |
