Project Summary

Focusing on youth 4th grade – Freshmen in College, this school-based program designs curriculum topics in cooperation with school administrators. Subject matter for prevention education is designed to prevent first time male perpetration of sexual violence and include topics such as bully prevention, the role of the bystander, sexual harassment on school property, improving peer relationships, learning conflict resolution skills, understanding gender roles and increasing empathy for victims of violence.

Intended outcomes: knowledge of bullying and sexual harassment both as a perpetrator and as a target; knowledge of gender roles; healthy versus unhealthy relationships; role of alcohol and drugs in sexual violence; personal boundaries and other related topics; change from negative toward positive attitude and behaviors in bullying and sexual assault situations as measured by pre/post testing.
