Revenue Cycle Assessment Tool Project


The Revenue Cycle Assessment Project is a unique opportunity for Kansas Critical Access and Rural PPS Hospitals to measure their own revenue cycle processes against revenue cycle best practices using the Revenue Cycle Assessment Tool, developed and evaluated by the Nevada Rural Hospital Partnership (NRHP).  Following completion of the Tool, each participating hospital receives a gap analysis report, indicating where the hospital diverges from best practices, potential monetary ramifications and readiness to change. This analysis and report will provide baseline data from which to measure improvement.

This project is an initiative of the Kansas FLEX Program in partnership with the Kansas Rural Health Options Program. It aims to give Kansas CAHs and rural PPS hospitals the information to perform better and improve their financial stability.

  • The survey tool is completed on-line and then evaluated by staff at NRHP.
  • It measures revenue cycle practices in hospitals against revenue cycle best practices.
  • An individual gap analysis report is provided for each hospital, indicating where hospital diverges from best practices, potential monetary ramifications and readiness to change.
  • An aggregate gap analysis report is provided to FLEX program.

Using the aggregate findings, the Kansas Flex program will work to create workshops and other programming directly addressing primary gaps.
