Boil Water Advisory Rescinded for Ottawa RWD No. 2 in Ottawa Co.

TOPEKA, Kan. - The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded the boil water advisory for Ottawa Rural Water District (RWD) No. 2 in Ottawa County. The boil water advisory was issued on June 5 because of a loss of pressure in the system due to a power outage.

Public water suppliers in Kansas take all measures necessary to notify customers quickly after a system failure. Regardless of whether the supplier or the system announces the boil water advisory, KDHE will issue the rescind order following testing at the Kansas Health and Environmental Laboratories.

Laboratory testing on samples collected from the Ottawa RWD No. 2 water supply indicate no evidence of contamination, and all other conditions that placed the system at risk of contamination are deemed by KDHE officials to be resolved.
