Boil Water Advisory Rescinded for Howison Heights Water District in Saline Co.

TOPEKA, Kan. - The boil water advisory for Howison Heights Water District has been rescinded. The boil water advisory was issued on Oct. 10 because of a fluctuation of chlorine residuals in the distribution system. The chlorine residuals collected in early October by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) ranged from highs of greater than 5 mg/L to lows of 0 mg/L. The required minimum free chlorine level is 0.2 mg/L.

Chlorine residuals have stabilized and laboratory testing on samples collected indicate no evidence of contamination. All other conditions that place the system at risk of contamination are deemed by KDHE officials to be resolved.
