TOPEKA, Kan. - The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is requesting public comment on a draft Agency Decision Statement (ADS) document which describes the preferred remedial alternative for addressing lead soil contamination at the Kansas Oxide Site in Kansas City, Kan.
The draft ADS and other pertinent documents will be available for review during the public comment period, Nov. 4 to 19, at the Kansas City Kansas Main Public Library, 625 Minnesota Avenue, Kansas City, KS and in KDHE’s Topeka Office 1000 Southwest Jackson, Suite 410, Topeka, KS. KDHE has also established a webpage link dedicated to the site, available online at http://wwwkdheks.gov/remedial/site_restoration/kansas_oxide.html. Many site documents, including the Draft Agency Decision Statement (ADS), are available on this webpage. Comments may be mailed by addressing them as follows:

Comments on the draft ADS may also be submitted to KDHE by electronic mail to email@example.com. The deadline for receiving public comment on this draft ADS is 5 p.m. on Nov. 19. KDHE will select a final remedy and anticipates issuing a Final ADS for the site after considering all information submitted during the public comment period. KDHE may modify the preferred remedial alternative or select another response action based on new information or public comments.
