Boil Water Advisory Issued for City of Carbondale and Osage Co. Rural Water District No. 5

TOPEKA, Kan. - The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued a boil water advisory for the City of Carbondale and Osage County Rural Water District (RWD) No. 5 public water systems. This water district also serves water to small areas of Shawnee, Douglas and Franklin Counties.

The possibility of untreated raw water being pumped directly to the distribution system from the Carbondale treatment plant has prompted this advisory. Osage County RWD No. 5 is included in the advisory because the water district purchases water from the Carbondale system.

Effective immediately customers should observe the following precautions until further notice:
