Public comment session to kick off June 25 KanCare Advisory Council meeting

TOPEKA, Kan.- The State of Kansas invites the public to the next KanCare Advisory Council meeting in Topeka to provide comments on the progress of the KanCare "Section 1115" demonstration project. This post-waiver award forum has been scheduled for the first hour of the Council meeting, on Tuesday, June 25, at 2 p.m. in Memorial Hall Auditorium, at 120 SW 10th Avenue in Topeka, Kansas.

At this meeting, interested individuals can learn about the progress of KanCare and how the State and three managed care companies are operating in accordance with the special terms and conditions of the "Section 1115" waiver granted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The Governor's KanCare Advisory Council was formed in March 2012 to provide the Administration with ongoing insight and recommendations on the implementation of KanCare. Council meetings are always open to the public, but the June 25 meeting is significant in that the Council is setting aside one hour to allow the State to receive oral comments from the public.

The state will draft a summary of the comments made during the forum and include the summary in the KanCare quarterly and annual reports. For more information, please email or call 785-296-3982.
