TOPEKA, Kan. -- Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is soliciting comments from the public on a draft Corrective Action Decision (CAD) document, which identifies and defines the preferred cleanup alternative to address contamination at the Greensburg Public Water Supply #8 Site at 311 N. Main Street in Greensburg. The 30-day public comment period scheduled to end on March 2 has been extended, and comments will now be accepted until May 1.
KDHE will select a final remedy for the site after reviewing and considering all information submitted during the comment period.
A draft CAD document outlining a proposal for cleanup is available for public review at the Kiowa County Library located at 320 S. Main Street in Greensburg and at KDHE's main offices at Curtis State Office Building, 1000 SW Jackson in Topeka. The draft CAD and other pertinent information is available online at http://www.kdheks.gov/remedial/index.html.
