Topeka – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is now accepting applications for the Waste Tire and Green School Solid Waste grants. Funds from these two grants will go toward implementing recycling projects in schools and local communities, consequently allowing more Kansans to see that recycling is about more than reducing paper and plastic consumption.
“This is a great opportunity for Kansas communities to reduce the amount of solid waste going to our landfills,” said Dr. Robert Moser, KDHE Secretary. “Not only will these funds help improve local neighborhoods, but citizens can learn more about being good stewards of the environment through the resulting projects.”
