Safe At Home Kick Off in Wichita Oct. 7

KDHE using $3M HUD grant to address unhealthy housing

Topeka - The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) is hosting a kickoff event to celebrate the 2011-2014 Lead Hazard Control Grant Award for Kansas. The “Safe at Home” initiative is funded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and allows KDHE to administer the use of over $3 million dollars to address unhealthy housing conditions affecting the residents of Kansas.

KDHE Secretary Robert Moser, MD, will be presenting the keynote address and explaining the significance of this award.   

KDHE staff will also be present to assist local applicants and provide neighborhood tours of units in progress and completed.
