Topeka– Safe Kids Kansas is celebrating 20 years of childhood accidental injury prevention. To mark this anniversary, a special event will be held at the Topeka Civic Theatre & Academy on Friday, Oct. 14. The evening event will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Stauffer Theatre with dinner and a brief program, followed by a special performance by Laughing Matters, TCTA’s own improvisational comedy troupe. Tickets for the event are $40 and can be purchased at www.safekidskansas.org.
“Over the past 20 years, our Safe Kids coalition members and champions have worked tirelessly to reduce the rate of accidental injury to Kansas children,” said Cherie Sage, State Director for Safe Kids Kansas. “This event is a celebration of those individuals and their efforts over the years, and a call to continue this important work.” The mission of Safe Kids Kansas is to prevent unintentional injuries to Kansas children ages 0-14.
