KDHE Launches 1st of 5 Webinars Addressing HIT/HIE Initiatives

Topeka – The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) will be offering a series of webinars to address the Kansas Medicaid Incentive Program. The Health Information Technology and Health Information Exchange (HIT/HIE) Initiative Webinar #1: “Overview of the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program” will be presented today, Wednesday, Aug. 31, from noon to 1 p.m.

This is a first in a series of webinars that KDHE’s Division of Health Care Finance (DHCF) will present on the Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program. Kansas physicians, pediatricians, providers in Federally Qualified Health Centers and Rural Clinics, provider office staff, certified registered nurse practitioners, midwives, dentists, other clinicians and hospital staff have been invited to participate in this webinar.

“Health Information Technology and Exchange are being used in Kansas to improve the coordination and delivery of health care services. To facilitate that process, we’re working with stakeholder groups and other interested parties to help set priorities and develop specific proposals for the implementation of HIT/HIE in the Medicaid and HealthWave programs,” said Andy Allison, PhD, Director, Division of Health Care Finance.
