Boil Water Advisory Rescinded for City of Atchison

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded the boil water advisory for the City of Atchison. The boil water advisory remains in effect for the consecutive systems: Atchison County RWD 6, Atchison County RWD 1, Atchison County RWD 3, Atchison County RWD 5C, Doniphan County RWD 3 and the City of Lancaster.

KDHE issued the advisory on October 6 for the City of Atchison and its consecutive systems due to a line break which resulted in a loss of pressure to the water distribution system. Laboratory testing on samples collected from the City of Atchison indicate no evidence of contamination, and all other conditions that place that system at risk of contamination are deemed by KDHE officials to be resolved.

KDHE will notify media when the boil water advisory has been rescinded for the consecutive systems.
