In June, Governor Mark Parkinson established the Kansas Commission on Graduation and Dropout Prevention and Recovery to better prepare Kansas students for their future and strengthen the economy.
That Commission will hold their first meeting on Monday, July 26 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. in room 530 of the Curtis State Office Building, 1000 SW Jackson, Topeka. There will be an opportunity for public comment from 3:30 - 4 p.m. Media are invited to attend.
At this meeting the commission will examine and make recommendations to set a goal and timeline for reducing the statewide annual dropout rate as well as develop a mission, vision and guiding principles. Materials, recommendations and future meeting dates will be available after the meeting at: www.kansasdropins.org.
