Kansas Small Business Environmental Assistance Program
Receives National Award

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) announces that the Kansas Small Business Environmental Assistance Program (SBEAP) was awarded the national 2010 Small Business Environmental Assistance Award.  The award was presented by the National Steering Committee for the Small Business Ombudsman/Small Business Environmental Assistance Programs at a June 9 ceremony in Virginia.

The Kansas SBEAP provides free, confidential environmental compliance assistance to small businesses through on-site visits, a toll-free hotline, and workshops/webinars.  KDHE contracts with Kansas State University’s Pollution Prevention Institute to provide this program.

“The Small Business Environmental Assistance Program provides services to businesses to assist them in complying with environmental regulations,” said Roderick Bremby, KDHE Secretary.

This award recognizes exemplary performance in one or more areas where individuals and programs have contributed their time, created resources and work products, promoted policy advancements, developed program innovations, and established new partnerships to build a strong network of small business environmental assistance.
