Kansas DropINs, a statewide collaboration focused on dropout prevention and spearheaded by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), announced today it will host eight regional pre-summit conversations in conjunction with Kansas’ Dropout Prevention Summit held October 20 in Wichita.
“A ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach will not be successful in preventing our youth from dropping out,” said Roderick L. Bremby, Secretary of KDHE. “Conversing locally about the issues and promising solutions unique to each area of the state will help to ensure that this Summit is more than just a one-day discussion.”
Pre-summit conversations will take place throughout September, allowing Kansans an additional opportunity to contribute to the statewide effort. Regional post-summits will also take place in January 2010.
Attendance at the regional conversations is free, however registration is strongly encouraged as space may be limited. To register, contact Jessica Noble at firstname.lastname@example.org or 785-296-1521. For more information or to view a map of the regions visit: www.KansasDropINs.org
Every Kansan has a stake in ensuring our youth succeed and therefore all sectors – private businesses, government agencies, school staff, parents, youth and concerned citizens are invited to attend.
