Boil Water Advisory Rescinded for the City of Buffalo
and Wilson County RWD #11A

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded a boil water advisory for water customers of the City of Buffalo and Wilson County RWD #11A.  Buffalo is located in northern Wilson County in southeast Kansas.  Wilson RWD #11A serves about 100 people in the vicinity of Buffalo.

KDHE issued the advisory on May 9 due to low water pressure.  With little or no water pressure in the distribution system, it is possible for contamination to occur. Any time water pressure is lost in a system this allows the potential for bacteria to enter. Laboratory testing indicates no evidence of contamination, and all other conditions that place the system at risk of contamination are deemed by KDHE officials to be resolved.
