MEDIA ADVISORY - Kansas Green Team Assembly and Award Luncheon
Scheduled for July 16 at the Statehouse in Topeka

The Kansas Green Team Assembly and Award Luncheon will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16 on the first floor rotunda of the Statehouse in Topeka. Members of the media are encouraged and invited to attend. The keynote address will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the awards presentations beginning at noon.

While the Kansas Green Teams began as a voluntary program, in early 2007 Governor Kathleen Sebelius issued a directive requiring all state offices to start recycling by the end of 2007. Today, all 101 state agencies and their satellite offices around the state are now participating in the program. Each state office now has a registered profile on the Kansas Green Team website.
