Health Advisory Lifted for Switzler Creek Near Burlingame

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has lifted the health advisory issued on August 1 for portions of Switzler Creek. The advisory was issued due to a sewage pump malfunction in Burlingame, and had applied to the portion of the creek between Burlingame and Dragoon Creek.

Laboratory analysis of water samples collected from the creek on Monday show that bacterial levels in the creek have returned to normal. The repairs needed to end the release of sewage into the creek have been completed.
