KDHE Seeks Public Comment on Obee Superfund Site in Hutchinson

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will conduct a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. on August 14 at Hutchinson City Hall, 125 E. Avenue B, Hutchinson. The purpose of the meeting is to hear public comments regarding a proposed plan to address contamination at the Airport Road Subsite of the Obee Road Superfund site and related sites, including the East 4 th Street Facility and the Farmland-Obee Road site.

KDHE and EPA may modify the proposed plan based on new information or public comments. Key documents concerning these sites, including the proposed plan, will be available for review and copying during the public comment period from August 1 through 30 at the following locations:

Members of the public may also provide comments on the proposed plan during the 30-day public comment period by submitting them in writing to KDHE at the address provided above and postmarking by August 30, or by e-mail at mdaily@kdheks.gov. KDHE will respond to all formal comments in a written responsiveness summary in the record of decision.
