Boil Water Order for the City of Elgin Rescinded

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded the boil water advisory for the city of Elgin in Chautauqua County.

The advisory was issued on July 19 after four bacteriological samples tested positive for total coliform and one of those samples also tested positive for fecal coliform. Subsequent laboratory testing indicates no evidence of contamination, and all other conditions that place the systems at risk of contamination are deemed by KDHE officials to be resolved.
