MEDIA ADVISORY: Public Meeting Scheduled at Independence High School Cafeteria, 7-9 p.m., July 12

Local and State Officials to Discuss Safely Re-Entering Flood-Damaged Homes

A public meeting to discuss health and safety information for residents working on the cleanup of their flooded homes in Montgomery County following the Southeast Kansas floods has been scheduled in the cafeteria at Independence High School, 1301 N. 10 th St. from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, July 12. The discussions will focus upon how to safely work in homes and businesses that have be impacted by the recent flooding.

Representatives of several local and state agencies involved in responding to the floods will present health and safety information for residents. Informational booths on specific topics will also be set up in the cafeteria to provide information on specific public health and environmental topics as well as recovery assistance.
