KDHE Hosts Hazardous Waste Workshops in NovemberThe Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Bureau of Waste Management (BWM) is presenting free workshops for generators of hazardous waste. These workshops will focus on how to determine if waste is hazardous, how to manage hazardous waste, recordkeeping requirements, and regulation changes. The workshops will also cover what to expect on a compliance inspection and will offer an opportunity to ask questions specific to a particular facility. The workshops are free and open to the public. Registration is recommended but not required. Registration is used only to ensure that there are enough seats and handouts for all participants. Those registering at least two days before the date of the workshop will receive certificates of attendance. Registration is available on-line at http://www.kdheks.gov/waste/index.html. The workshops are being held throughout the state at a variety of times to try to accommodate different work schedules and to try to make them as accessible as possible to all who want to participate.
