Kansas Health Officials To Discuss Improved Immunization RatesState Now Ranked 12th in the Nation, Up from 43rdKansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Secretary Roderick Bremby and other public health partners will discuss the latest Kansas immunization rates at a news conference at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2006 in the Curtis State Office Building, 5th Floor, Crumbine Room, Topeka.According to the latest national data released today, Kansas is ranked 12th in the nation (2005 data) in the core immunization series (4:3:1:3:3), up from 43rd (2004 data). This is based on the National Immunization Survey released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The 4:3:1:3:3 includes four doses of DTaP, three doses of polio vaccine, one dose measles-mumps-rubella vaccine, three doses of Hepatitis B, and three doses of Haemophilus influenzae type b. KDHE Secretary Roderick Bremby, Dr. Howard Rodenberg, Director of KDHE's Division of Health, and other public health experts will discuss the improvements. All media are invited to attend.
