BOIL WATER ORDER LIFTED FOR CITY OF RANDALL IN JEWELL COUNTY

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has lifted the boil water order for the city of Randall in Jewell County. Therefore, residents no longer need to boil their drinking water.

KDHE issued the order August 24 to protect the public health because sampling had determined the presence of total coliform and E coli in the water system. In addition, the chlorine residuals were not sufficient to kill bacteria in the system.

Chlorine levels have been adjusted, the distribution system was flushed and bacteriological sampling has been completed. There is no evidence of bacteria in the system; therefore, the boil water order is no longer needed.
