BOIL WATER ADVISORY LIFTED FOR CITY OF POMONAThe Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has lifted the boil water advisory for the city of Pomona in Franklin County. Therefore, residents no longer need to boil their drinking water. This system serves 952 residential customers in Pomona. KDHE issued the advisory December 8 to protect the public health because the city's public water supply lost water pressure due to a water main break which also resulted in the loss of approximately 100,000 gallons of water from the system. Repairs to the system have been made and bacteriological sampling has been completed. There is no evidence of bacteria in the system; therefore, the precautionary boil water advisory is no longer needed. |
