Food Service and Lodging License Renewals Are Due January 1

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) 2006 Food Service license renewal notices were recently mailed to currently licensed operators. Food service establishment licenses may be renewed at the current fee of $200.

Operators who fail to pay license renewal fees before Jan. 1, 2006, must pay a $10 reinstatement fee in addition to the regular $200 renewal fee. If the renewal fee is not received by Jan. 31, 2006, operators must re-apply for a license and pay an additional application fee.

After fees have been paid, licenses will be mailed in Jan. 2006.

Lodging license renewal notices for 2006 were mailed to currently licensed operators in Nov. 2005. All lodging license fees are due by Jan. 1, 2006.

Restaurant and lodging facility operators who do not receive a renewal application by Dec. 12 should contact KDHE at 785-296-5600 or 785-296-5603. Written correspondence may be mailed to: KDHE Food Protection and Consumer Safety Program, 1000 SW Jackson St., Suite 330 Topeka, KS 66612-1274. Correspondence may also be sent to KDHE by fax at 785-296-6522.
