KDHE to Discuss 2005 Flu Season; Announce State Pandemic Flu Plan

News Conference -- Oct. 10, 10 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. in Topeka

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) will hold a news conference Monday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. to discuss the upcoming flu season and to announce the Kansas Pandemic Flu Plan.

The news conference will be in the Curtis Building, 1000 SW Jackson, Suite 540, (Crumbine Conference Room), in Topeka.

Speakers will include Howard Rodenberg, M.D., M.P.H., KDHE Division of Health Director, and Gail Hansen, D.V.M., M.P.H., State Epidemiologist.

Photo opportunities will be available. Shawnee County Health Agency staff will give flu shots to two individuals during the news conference.

Media and local health departments outside of Topeka may watch the news conference via the Internet at www.kan-ed.org.
