KDHE Rescinds Health Advisory for Little Cedar Creek in Olathe

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has rescinded a health advisory for portions of the Little Cedar Creek in Olathe. The advisory, issued Aug. 18, included the area of the creek from the former Delphi Battery Plant, 400 W. Dennis St., (Dennis St. and Grant St.) to Santa Fe.

Further investigation and additional sampling results reveal the effect of the acidic water leaking into the Little Cedar Creek from a drain on the Delphi property, is no longer evident. The leak happened Tuesday night and was reported to KDHE Wednesday.

With the health advisory rescinded, it is no longer necessary to avoid bodily contact with the water, nor to keep pet and livestock away from the water.
