News Conference on America Recycles Day
Monday, November 15, 1:30 p.m. Shawnee Co. Recycling
Center, Topeka
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and Kansas
Business and Industry Recycling Program (Kansas BIRP) will hold a news
conference on the importance of recycling on Monday, November 15, which
is America Recycles Day. The news conference will be held at 1:30
p.m. at the Shawnee County Recycling Center , 1515 N.W. Saline,
Topeka .
Attendees include KDHE Secretary Roderick L. Bremby, KDHE Division of
Environment Director Ron Hammerschmidt, KDHE Bureau of Waste Management
Director Bill Bider, and Kansas Business and Industry Recycling Program
Executive Director, Chiquita Cornelius.
Trucks will be dropping off recycling materials at the facility as the
news conference concludes. And the Topeka High Drum Line will perform
providing a sample of their performance planned at the "What A Wonderful World" - America
Recycles Day Festival set for Saturday, November 20 at White Concert
Hall, Washburn University (2- 5 p.m.).
