Work to Proceed on Vent Well

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has approved a proposal by ONEOK, Inc. to clean out and deepen to the salt formation vent well DDV #9 located in the 12th and Plum St. area in Hutchinson. The vent well was drilled by ONEOK in response to the 2001 natural gas release crisis for the purpose of locating and venting natural gas from underground.

The work approved will allow additional pressure and geologic information to be obtained. This work is planned to commence the week of December 15, 2003, and is expected to take approximately one week to complete barring any weather delays or other unforeseen delays.
