Limited Edition Calendars Available
To Encourage Recycling

Governor of Kansas with StudentsThe 2004 Kansas Don’t Spoil It! Limited Edition wall calendar featuring original artwork by Kansas students is now available from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). The calendar is available free for a limited time (while supplies last) to Kansas residents by calling KDHE at (800) 282-9790 before December 31.

Grand Prize WinnerLast spring, nearly 4,000 Kansas students from grades K through 12 submitted artwork for the calendar depicting ways Kansans can preserve the beauty and natural resources of their state. Individual entries were judged and winners selected for each grade plus an overall winner. Now in its fifth year, the contest has seen increased student participation and use by teachers who utilize the calendar as a resource tool in the classroom.

Pledge cards to keep our State clean by practicing the Three R’s: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle will be included with each calendar. Anyone who returns their pledge card to the KDHE, Bureau of Waste Management, will be entered in a drawing for a Kansas Don’t Spoil It! beverage mug or tote bag.

For more information on how Kansans can recycle, compost, and properly dispose of household hazardous waste, visit the Kansas Don’t Spoil It! website: www.kansasdontspoilit.com
