Eight Additional Human Cases of West Nile Virus
Meningitis /Encephalitis/Acute Flaccid Paralysis

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Laboratory has confirmed eight additional human cases of West Nile Virus (WNV) encephalitis or meningitis or acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) cases in the state, bringing the reported, confirmed total to 61. The latest cases include:

54 year old in Saline County - Acute flaccid paralysis (AFP)
34 year old in Dickinson County - Acute flaccid paralysis (AFP)
44 year old in Sedgwick County - Acute flaccid paralysis (AFP)
38 year old in McPherson County
13 year old in McPherson County
30 year old in Sedgwick County
47 year old in Sedgwick County
14 year old Lyon County
