Six lucky people from across the state of Kansas just won some unique prizes for their participation in the annual America Recycles Day (ARD) on November 15th.
"Thousands of Kansans in 32 communities participated in more than 212 activities and events across the state to celebrate America Recycles Day," said Chiquita Cornelius, Kansas ARD Program Coordinator.
This is the sixth year of this national event to encourage people to remember to reduce, reuse, recycle and buy recycled products. This is the second year the Kansas program was coordinated by the new Keep Kansas Beautiful program.
The Grand Prize Family Weekend Package includes an overnight stay in a Dodge City motel, tickets to Boot Hill Museum, an entertainment package dependent on seasonal activities and Dodge City memorabilia. Anyone who filled out an ARD pledge card was eligible for national and state prizes.
