Ancient Dragon in Fort Scott Remains Closed Under Court Order
Violations Remain After KDHE Re-Inspection

This week the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) conducted a follow-up inspection of Ancient Dragon, 2 National Street, Fort Scott. The restaurant remains in violation of state food service regulations and remains closed under court order. The re-inspection was at the request of restaurant proprietor Benny Lin.

Ancient Dragon opened November 14th, without approval from KDHE and without a license. A November 19th inspection revealed findings of imminent public health hazards, however, Lin refused to voluntarily close at the request of the KDHE inspector. KDHE sought a temporary restraining order which was granted November 22nd. In an effort to continue to protect public health, KDHE will not request the court to lift the temporary restraining order until Ancient Dragon comes into compliance with Kansas food safety standards.
