State Prohibits Ashford Place from Admitting New Residents
$2000 Fine Imposed on the Overland Park Facility

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an order prohibiting new admissions to Ashford Place, 10665 Barkley, Overland Park, after an inspection revealed deficiencies that significantly and adversely impact the health, safety, nutrition, or sanitation at the residential health care facility. The order, issued shortly after an inspection, prohibits the facility from accepting new residents until the deficiencies are corrected. Once staff determine the deficiencies have been corrected, the admissions ban will be lifted. In some instances, that may occur within days.

KDHE has also issued an order assessing a $2,000 civil penalty against Ashford Place, for violations of state adult care home regulations.

KDHE staff inspected the facility on November 5, 6, 7 and 8, issued a correction order on November 14, citing the facility for failure to meet standards for care and service.

The fine is subject to appeal to the Secretary of Health and Environment.
