State Lifts Admissions Prohibition at Alterra Sterling House of Abilene

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an order, effective November 4, 2002, lifting a prohibition on new admissions to Alterra Sterliing House of Abilene, 1100 North Vine, Abilene. A follow-up inspection on that date showed that previously documented deficiencies at the facility have been corrected.

Those deficiencies had significantly and adversely impacted the health, safety, nutrition or sanitation at the facility. The lifting of the prohibition enables the facility to accept new residents. The order lifting the ban was signed by the Secretary of Health and Environment on November 12, 2002, and was effective retroactively to November 4, 2002.
