De Dee's I-70 Public Water Supply Fined

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an Administrative Order to the facility, De Dee's I-70, for violations of public water supply statutes and regulations.

Violations include: detection of total coliform bacteria, failing to adequately monitor the drinking water supply, failing to provide proof that required public notice concerning the violations was completed, and operating the public water supply system without the supervision of a certified operator. De Dee's is located 8 miles south of Manhattan at the intersection of I-70 and State Highway 177.

Under terms of the Administrative Order, the facility is ordered to take required actions as contained in a compliance schedule and pay a civil penalty in the amount of $3,910.00. The facility has an opportunity to appeal the Order and Penalty within 15 days following receipt.
