The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an Emergency Order of Temporary Suspension for Country Kitchen, 3203 North Vine Street, Hays, because of violations of state food service regulations. The suspension of the license became effective October 17th.
The order was issued based upon findings of imminent public health hazards revealed during an October 14th inspection as well as the findings from previous inspections on June 26th and July 10th. The inspections are conducted by KDHE, and review the facility's procedures and equipment for sanitation and food storage, handling, and preparation.
State law allows the KDHE Division of Health to suspend a facility's license for violations of state regulations adopted pursuant to the Kansas Food Service and Lodging Act. The laws are intended to protect the public from food-borne illness.
The order is subject to appeal to the Secretary of Health and Environment.
