The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an order assessing a $10,000 civil penalty against Kenwood Plaza, 607 E. First St., St. John, for violating state adult care home regulations.
KDHE staff inspected the facility on October 5, 8-12 and 15-17 and determined that the facility failed to meet standards for health care services. The department determined the violation resulted in, caused, or posed serious physical harm to a resident. State law authorizes KDHE to issue civil penalties following an inspection under those circumstances.
The order is subject to appeal to the Secretary of Health and Environment.
