Public Meeting Scheduled for October 29 on Proposed Transfer Station

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 29th to receive public comments regarding a proposed solid waste transfer station which would be located at the northeast corner of 55th St. South and Hoover Road in Wichita.

The public hearing, and an informational meeting immediately preceding it at 6 p.m., will be held at the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center, in the Sunflower Room, at 7001 W. 21st Street North (southeast corner of 21st and Ridge Road) in Wichita. The 48-acre site is owned by Waste Disposal L.L.C.

A copy of the administrative record including the draft permit, permit application, engineering drawings, and other information are available for public review until Friday, November 2 during normal business hours at the KDHE offices at 130 S.
