Food Service License Renewals Due January 1

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) 2002 Food Service license renewal notices will be mailed to currently licensed operators on November 1 and 2. Food service establishment licenses may be renewed at the increased fee rate of $130. Retail Food Store and Food Processing Plant renewal notices for 2002 will also be mailed November 1 and 2 at the fee rates for $50; $100; and $150.

Operators who fail to pay license renewal fees before January 1, 2002, must pay a $10 penalty in addition to the regular renewal fee. If the renewal fee and license application are not received by January 31, 2002, operators must re-apply for a license and pay the additional application fee. After fees have been paid, licenses will be mailed beginning in January 2002.

Lodging license renewal notices for 2002 were mailed to currently licensed operators on October 16 and 17.

Restaurant, lodging, retail food store and food processing plant operators and lodging facility operators who do not receive a renewal application by December 1 should contact KDHE at 785-296-5600 or 785-296-5603. Written correspondence may be mailed to: KDHE Food Protection and Consumer Safety Program, 1000 SW Jackson St., Suite 200, Topeka, KS 66612-1274. Correspondence may also be sent to KDHE by fax at 785-296-6522.
