The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an Emergency Order of Revocation against the state certification of Quality Water Analysis Laboratory, Inc. (QWAL), 2911 Rotary Terrace, Pittsburg, Kansas. The Order was issued on September 28, 2001 as a result of findings revealed by a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Criminal Investigations Division investigation of QWAL.
Principals of QWAL have signed statements to the U.S. Attorney's Office admitting that they manipulated analytical data knowing such data would be used in reports submitted to the State of Kansas.
