Evergreen Gardens of Garden City Fined $10,000
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued an order assessing a $10,000 civil penalty against Evergreen Gardens of Garden City, 531 Campus View St., Garden City, for violating state adult care home regulations.
KDHE staff inspected the assisted living facility on November 6-10 and 13-15 and determined that the facility failed to meet standards for staff treatment of residents. The department determined the violation resulted in, caused, or posed serious physical harm to a resident. State law authorizes KDHE to issue civil penalties following an inspection under those circumstances.
The order is subject to appeal to the Secretary of Health and Environment.
